Pratt Memorial Library

Shelburne Falls, MA

The historic Pratt Memorial Library Building, housing the Arms Library, was built in 1914 in the Classical Revival style.  Jones Whitsett Architects served as the restoration architect for the historically sensitive repairs to the clad copper dome and clay tile roof, which were completed in 2014.  Foundation waterproofing and insulation work followed in 2016.  Most recently JWA assisted the Arms Library in re-envisioning the Children’s Area and adding a meeting room space at the lower level.  New energy efficient heating and cooling systems were installed throughout the building and lighting was upgraded.  Plaster repair work included restoration of the interior dome, along with new lighting to highlight the space.
