Smith Charities

Northampton, MA

JWA is working with Smith Charities to determine a plan for renovation and improvement of their 6,020sf Renaissance Revival office building in downtown Northampton.  Designed by William Feno Pratt and constructed in 1865, this unique brownstone anchors the downtown historic district and continues to operate in much the way it did when it was first built.  To develop a record of the building's current conditions, JWA scanned the building with a Leica 3D laser scanner (see video) and provided the Charities and the Massachusetts Historic Commission with a 3D point cloud and photorealistic model as an archive. In future phases of work, JWA will assist the Charities in renovating the masonry and second floor interior.
