Springfield Technical Community College

Springfield, MA
2003- 2008

Margo Jones Architects has enjoyed a productive long term relationship with Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) as “house doctor.” STCC was originally designed as an armory and military barracks with buildings dating from the early 1800s. Margo Jones Architects has executed parking studies, interior renovations, and façade restoration projects for the college campus. Recent work involved working closely with the National Park Service to determine the most acceptable, visually appealing and energy responsive replacement windows for a number of early 19th century buildings. In a precedent-setting project, deteriorating windows in Buildings 24, 16, and 21 were replaced with low maintenance, thermally-efficient, easily operated windows.
