Whately Town Hall

Whately, MA

For seven years Jones Whitsett Architects supported the small community of Whately in its efforts to restore its historic, 1844, Town Hall. After much debate, town voters committed to a comprehensive restoration and addition in 2018. The renovated building retains its slate roof and refinished windows, but includes structural modifications, new insulation and mechanical systems, all new plumbing and electrical fixtures, a renovated assembly space and a fully accessible lift.  The historic hall now functions as a community center and a home for the Whately Historical Society.
