As the sole proprietor until 2014, Margo led the firm in designing high quality public and private projects, including schools, cultural institutions, and civic projects. She became LEED accredited in 2005. In 2014, she expanded the firm to partner with Kristian Whitsett, AIA, and changed the name to Jones Whitsett Architects. The firm has grown and evolved to broaden their capabilities within the school, historic preservation, and public project realm.

She has distinguished herself in serving the architecture profession, on a state level as Secretary of Massachusetts Board of Registration of Architects for 10 years, and served for nine years as committee member, board member, and officer of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). Margo has also been active in her community, as a former board President of Greenfield Community YMCA, past President of the Arts Council of Franklin County, and former Council member of The Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Association.
