Blake's Barn at Jacob's Pillow nears completion

Work is coming along rapidly at Jacob’s Pillow on JWA led improvements to Blake’s Barn. This is the “entrance” to the campus of the renowned Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival in Becket, MA.  Here visitors are treated to exhibits, pre-performance talks, and ticket purchasing.  Over time, it also became home to the Pillow Archive. 

Having designed the original reconstruction of a trustee’s barn in this location in 1989, JWA was recently asked to expand it once again.  The Pillow Archive has thrived exponentially, as media documentation of the art of dance becomes more robust and important.  This recent addition, due to be completed before the summer 2021 season, expands public access to those archives, with new space shaped in the agrarian architectural vocabulary of Blake’s Barn.
