Shelburne Senior Center Study

The Senior Center serving the towns of Ashfield, Buckland and Shelburne has worked with Jones Whitsett Architects for several years on an effort to expand the physical presence of the Senior Center within the West County community. JWA collaborated closely with the Senior Center staff and board of directors to review over 20 potential sites within a 5 mile radius of the existing senior center.

JWA assisted the Senior Center in public forums within the three towns of Ashfield, Buckland and Shelburne to gather feedback from citizens regarding the pros and cons of the various sites. Preliminary cost estimates, code and zoning review, and building assessments were all part of the review coordinated by JWA. Existing buildings sites, as well as new construction sites, were considered for the expansion project. Upon completion of the study process, the Senior Center has moved into an ownership review process and fundraising effort.
